The Best Beaches in Florida aren't always where you think they are. If you haven't already made reservations on the Gulf side of Florida then be sure and examine the Vero Beach area before doing so. They advertise a lot for the Tampa Bay region but if you cut across this date due east you'll be surprised how less crowded it is and how much nicer the water can be. The places that come to mind for most people when they think of the best beaches are Clearwater, Siesta key, Naples, Panama City, and Daytona beach. Many of the Gulf of Mexico beaches are percieved as the best. The Treasure Coast is quieter and less packed than the Gulf side of the state.
The Treasure Coast is the area south of the Space Coast, by Melbourne, but north of the crowds of West Palm Beach and South Florida. We are situated right between those two areas. Some of the least crowded and best beaches in Florida are between the Sebastian Inlet and the Fort Pierce Inlet. There are times when it gets sandy and looks more like Daytona but that is usually short lived. The water in Melbourne and north can be muddy or sandy more often than not. Here though you can get that tropical water which does not happen in Daytona or further north.
The old downtown has been nicely restored and turned into an upscale shopping area. It is full of a broad mixture of shops. Whether it's for you or a gift you can probably find it here because there are many distinctive types of stores on this shopping street. The barrier island has some of the most popular restaurant in all of Vero Beach. Although this isn't the only area to shop in Vero Beach it is one of the nicer ones. Just over the bridge from the island and a little south is what is called the Miracle Mile another great shopping neighbourhood in Vero Beach. Further west on Route 60 you can find all the large box stores you could want and a very great mall with hundreds of choices.
